Today for cybersmart we made a GIF on one way to be cybersmart.
I did mine about thinking about what you say on the internet, here it is!
I am a student at New Windsor School. This is where I share my learning around Learn, Create, Share and the New Windsor Way.
I did mine about thinking about what you say on the internet, here it is!
Hi. For an activity we had to create a self digital portrait.
Everyone was taking a photo of themselves and then working off that, but I decided to do it freehand.
(And I am pretty sure I was the only one who did it freehand)
So, here it is! It didn't take me long. But I like a bit of a challenge doing it freehand.
Hi. In Auckland we finally moved to the traffic light system, and now we can have others inside our houses. So me and my friend Anna
are gonna have a play-date.
We are going to watch Lilo & Stitch, as she has never seen it before.
And I also have heaps of new stuff in my room I am going to show her!
I hope you get time to play with your friends too, and make sure to have a great day. Bye!
Yesterday we went on something called "Summer Learning Journey"
And we had to choose a painting, and then colour it in with our own colours, or the original ones.
I decided to put my own colours, and this is how it turned out!
Hello! Recently I made a stop motion animation with my friend,
where Jerry-Bob and Simba fight over who is the class pet.
This is it! (It's very short)
Kia ora. Today for maths, my class did reflection art.
You may be wondering how reflection art works. Well, It's pretty simple!
For our reflection art we used google drawings to make a shape with maybe some things in it. We did a reflection, a rotation and a enlarge. For reflection you copy your shape and flip it. For rotation you copy your shape and rotate it. And for enlarge, you copy the shape and make it bigger.
Here is mine! (note that it is not finished)
Kia ora! Today I did writing about Kaitiaki
(caring of the environment)
And this is it! Feel free to tell me some changes.
Hi. If you didn't know already, it's Maori Language Week! And so for Room 11, we have Maori Language Week slides. In those slides, every day for a week we will learn one of the tasks (In order)
And our first task is to learn this karakia for kai:
--------------------
Maori:
Ki taku whanau
Me nga hoa
Me te kai,
Kia ora.
-----------
English:
Our family,
Friends and food,
We say thank you.

Here is a video of me saying it:
Hi. If you don't know me yet, I'm Grace. An almost 10 year old student from New Windsor School.
And if you didn't know, (which if you are new then you definitely wouldn't know,) I do Kapa Haka.
If you don't know what Kapa Haka is, it is where you preform Maori dances and songs in front of an audience.
It takes lots of time to practise the dances and memorise the songs.
And some of my favourite songs that we do in Kapa Haka, is
1. Nga iwi e
It is a super fun song, and it makes me nice and energetic with how happy the song is.
2. Toku reo.
It's really fun to sing and I'm obsessed with how it sounds when all of us are singing it!
3. Uia.
This is our poi. If you don't know what poi is, it's these things and you make movement with them, I'm not really sure how to explain it. And I love how at the start of the song we do a 3 part harmony.
Poi video here:
Thanks for reading my blog post and feel free to ask some questions about anything. Have a great rest of the night or day!
Hi, how's lockdown? For me, it's sad because we can't see friends in person. Only on call. But there is some things that are good, like how we can still do art! Rather it's drawing digitally or just on a piece of paper. Or maybe it isn't drawing, it could be crafts.
But I LOVE drawing, and I am doing an art task, for 30 days.
I am working on day 2. The task is draw a butterfly with exotic colours.
If you are struggling to find pictures of people, search up on google photography of ___ (what you want to draw)And you will find some really cool photos.
Here is the drawing so far.
Kia ora. This is a re-write of Goldilocks And The Three Bears. This is unfinished, and is made with my friend Anna. Check out her blog, too. Maybe you could find some cool work there.

Feel free to comment some ideas, or recommend some changes to the story so far.
Goodbye term 2, and hello holidays!
9th, July, 2021.
Yes, you know what this means. Last day of school until the holidays.
This term flew away quick, so let's do a reflection on some things room 11 has learnt, and done. What was new to the class?
*rewind...rewind...rewind....*
Start of term 2, 2021.
Back here, we were learning about DMIC and how it works.
We did DMIC a lot in maths. We would sit down on the mat, Mathpie, or Mathcraft, and we would get into groups of 4. Then we would have a maths problem we had to figure out.
Now, if we weren't on the mat, we were doing an independent task on our chrome-books.
Let's go a bit further on in the year.
June, (or May can't remember) 2021
We had this thing called tuakana-teina day.
Where the little kids came to do work with us.
We buddied up for the day, and did this Matariki work.
Another thing,
Yesterday I finished an activity where you make a rap. Here is the video below:
We have lot's of other good memories, but I think I'll just do those three since this is getting pretty long. Thank you for reading probably the last blog post for this term! Have a nice holiday. Bye!! ❤
We were given a samoan/tongan food, called Panikeke.
All were different shapes. Mine was an oval, with a small crisp point on one side.
It was a tanned orangey-brownish-red. The outside was very crispy, like a chip.
The outside tastes delicious, like your biting into heaven. Then the inside it tastes like soft, thick, and fluffy banana bread. If you eat them together….
YOU GET DELICIOUSNESS!!
It is great and lasts a long time! (Though, I still wanted 2…) So if you have time to make it and find the recipe, I highly recommend it!
Today room 11 did a science project! We watched a video about bee's, to get some information in our brains. But, to make it challenging, there wasn't everything In the video.
After watching it, we went and sat at our seats. Then we were given small-sized containers with what type of bee was on it, and a dead bee inside. I know, sounds gross. But it's better in real life! I was hoping for a queen bee! It would be so cool to see one up close!
Me and Devanshi decided to work together. And eventually we got our bee.....And guess what? It was a Queen Bumblebee!!!
We were so excited, my heart was pounding!! And me and Devanshi both looked at each other and smiled.
We also had papers, which were double-sided. That was the work we had to answer. We also were given a magnifying glass,
and a pair of tweezers to look at the striped insect better. We learnt facts, and Queen Bumblebee's are very big and fluffy! But it smelt like rotten vegimite scented vinigar...bleh!
Me and Devanshi were so tempted to pet its small head, but didn't.
Hi. My name is Grace, and I am a 9 year old student from New Windsor School!
I enjoy playing video games, like Roblox and Minecraft.
I have two cats, Smokey, and Licorice. Sadly Smokey only has 3 legs. And we might want another pet!
Fun fact: I don't have a favourite food, because I love basically everything! So I have too many options to pick from.
I hope you enjoy the blog posts I make, and have a fantastic day!!!
😁
