Working On Art!

Hi, how's lockdown? For me, it's sad because we can't see friends in person. Only on call. But there is some things that are good, like how we can still do art! Rather it's drawing digitally or just on a piece of paper. Or maybe it isn't drawing, it could be crafts.

But I LOVE drawing, and I am doing an art task, for 30 days.

I am working on day 2. The task is draw a butterfly with exotic colours.

This is my butterfly so far. I still need to colour it and do some more outlining.

And also, since I love doing art I have been working on another drawing of a girl I found on google.

If you are struggling to find pictures of people, search up on google photography of ___ (what you want to draw)And you will find some really cool photos.

Here is the drawing so far.

Thank you for reading this blog post, and I hope the rest of your day or night will be good!

  1. Nice Grace, I love your style of writing, it's just like we are having a conversation, though try not to start a sentence with "and".

    1. Thanks for the feedback! I will try my best not to, and look for a different sentence starter every time. It's nice how you like my type of writing. It makes me happy when people like things I do!🥰

  2. Hi Grace,
I feel the same about lockdown.
I've been working on the art thing as well. I'm not actually doing it in order.
The drawings are really good so far.

    1. Hi Anna, thanks. I hope you are enjoying the task. I'm not really doing it in order either, I just went to the butterfly and haven't done day one yet!
It's cool how we can relate. :)

  3. Kia ora Grace,

What a beautiful artwork. I like the detail and explanation into your blog - it makes me want to read more. Your blog makes me think of Justin's post: https://nwsjustinc.blogspot.com/2021/08/random-drawing.html#comment-form. He had wacky drawing.

Did you find anything tricky while you were drawing?

Looking forward to your future blog posts,
    Miss Laxa

    1. Hi Miss Laxa. Thank you! Art is one of my favourite hobbies. I'll check out Justin's blog post, too. I always find things tricky while drawing! I'm quite a perfectionist when it comes to drawing..(rather digitally, or just on a piece of paper) With the butterfly, it was really hard to get the wings the same. And if I were to trace my reference, it wouldn't technically be my drawing..it would just be a copy of someone else's, and maybe with different colours. No matter how much I erased off the wing, and then drew the part erased smaller..It would be all stretched out and massive! And with the girl, I can never do eyes the same. One may look more realistic than the other. Or the eyebrows are too far down she looks mad! And the thing is, it's really annoying with the eyes and eyebrows, because those give off most the expression! I am going to probably post my next blog post after looking at Justin's work..I hope you will like it! Have a nice day. :)
